  1. You need 3 1/2 lb chicken pieces
  2. Use 8 cup chicken broth

  4. Prepare 2 cup flour
  5. Get 1 tbsp baking powder

  1. In a large, wide pot, simmer chicken pieces in the broth until the chicken is tender, 30 minutes or more. Remove the chicken and set aside. When cool enough to handle, skin and bone the chicken and shred or cut into bitesize pieces.

Use a food processor, pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until it is the size of very small peas and distribute throughout the dry ingredients. Add water and knead 8-10 times. If too sticky, add more flour. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Bring broth to a boil and drop in dumplings. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook 10 minutes. Ladle broth and dumplings over chicken.
