The ingredients needed to make Vanilla cookies:

  2. Take Icing sugar

Steps to make Vanilla cookies:
  1. Sieve all-purpose flour and baking powder. Keep it aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla essence to it.
  3. Add flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture and combine well. At this stage, mixture will look crumbled.
  4. Gradually add the milk and make a smooth(crack-free) dough. Divide the dough into two parts in ratio 2:1.
  5. In the large portion, add red colour. Roll it into 5 mm thickness and cut hearts using a cookie cutter.
  6. Stack all the hearts(one on the other) with little water in between. Freeze it for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove from the freezer and cover it with a white dough. Roll the heart log to obtain a smooth surface. Put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Slice the heart log to 5 mm thickness.
  9. Take old kadhai, take about 1/2 kg salt in it. Place metal ring of at least 1” height in the center and put metal plate above it. Cover it and preheat on a high flame for about 15 minutes.
  10. Once preheated, transfer cookie balls on the steel plate greased with oil.
  11. Cook on a low flame until edges turn slightly golden(for about 20 minutes).
  12. Immediately, Transfer them to other tray so that it doesn’t over cook(burn from the bottom).
